Refreshed New Tab · Updated November 7, 2026
This extension provides a customizable new-tab page, search controls, and wallpapers. It does not include advertising or analytics code.
Connecting requests your name, email, and profile photo directly from Google to display in the account menu. Profile details remain in page memory and are not sent to the developer. Photos load from Google. Chrome manages access tokens; only a connection preference is stored locally. Connected profiles refresh without prompting on new tabs. Disconnect clears cached authorization and the connection preference without signing you out of Google websites. You can revoke access in your Google Account connections settings. The identity permission supports this optional sign-in; the extension does not request access to your Gmail messages, contacts, or Drive files. Google also returns an account identifier to validate the profile response; this is not stored by the extension.
Submitted searches go to your selected search provider. The Default option uses Chrome’s configured search provider. No AI uses DuckDuckGo’s no-AI search when DuckDuckGo is selected; otherwise it sends searches to Google Web after confirmation. It does not change Chrome’s default search setting.
Google suggestions are off until you enable them and accept the notice. When enabled, text you type is sent directly to Google before you submit a search, regardless of your selected search engine. These requests omit cookies through the fetch credentials setting, but Google still receives your IP address and request information. Suggestion text is not sent to the developer’s server. Google handles requests under its privacy policy.
Your three most recent submitted search phrases are stored locally, including when suggestions are off. Up to 50 suggestion responses are held in memory for the current page and cleared when suggestions are disabled or the page closes.
Opening the stock picker requests photos. Photo search terms and page numbers are sent to the developer-operated Cloudflare Worker, which forwards the search to Pixabay. Cloudflare receives your IP address and request information; Pixabay receives the forwarded search. Cloudflare or Pixabay may retain operational request records under their policies and service configuration. This extension does not promise that these services keep no logs.
Thumbnails and selected images load from Pixabay. If Pixabay fails, the picker can load photos from Lorem Picsum and its image CDN. Those image services receive your IP address and request information. Photographer attribution links open the source website only when clicked.
The tab favicon and search-provider icons load from Google’s favicon service, which receives your IP address and the requested icon domain. These icon requests do not include your search text.
See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and Pixabay’s privacy policy.
Settings, your current wallpaper, and wallpaper history are stored locally in this browser profile. Uploaded images are processed locally and are not uploaded by the extension. History retains up to 20 wallpapers with an approximately 80 MB limit, except that the newest wallpaper is retained even if larger. Clear history deletes previous wallpapers but preserves the current background.
Stock search responses are stored locally and reused for 24 hours. Expired response records are not currently automatically deleted. Turn off suggestions in Customize to stop suggestion requests. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension data; it does not delete records retained by external services.
User data is used only to provide these features, not sold or used for personalized advertising. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
